Virat Kohli laid the foundation for RCB with a sublime 67 off 42 deliveries, while skipper and Player of the Match Patidar dazzled with a 64 off just 32 balls. Jitesh Sharma added fireworks at the end with a blistering 40* off 21, powering RCB to a formidable total of 221/5.

In response, Mumbai Indians mounted a fearless chase, spearheaded by their captain Hardik Pandya (42 off 15) and a fiery knock from Tilak Varma (56 off 29). The duo launched a stunning counterattack that brought MI back into the game. However, RCB’s bowlers held firm at the death to clinch a thrilling win.

The chase began with Rohit Sharma showing early intent, flicking Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a stylish six and following it with back-to-back boundaries off Yash Dayal. But Dayal had the last laugh, uprooting Rohit’s stumps, and Josh Hazlewood struck soon after to trap Ryan Rickelton LBW, dealing MI early setbacks.

Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks steadied the innings, guiding MI to 54/2 at the end of the Powerplay. A quick flourish came in the 8th over with 14 runs off Krunal Pandya, but the left-arm spinner bounced back, surprising Jacks (22 off 18) with a sharp delivery. Dayal then removed SKY (28 off 26), putting the brakes on MI’s momentum.

Then arrived the fireworks. Hardik Pandya stormed in with aggressive intent and joined forces with Tilak Varma for a jaw-dropping onslaught. The pair went after Suyash Sharma, plundering 17 runs, before Hardik tore into Hazlewood with a 22-run demolition. Even his brother Krunal wasn’t spared, as Hardik launched twin sixes off him, electrifying the crowd. Tilak’s stunning 26-ball half-century and their 89-run stand off just 39 balls swung the momentum MI’s way.

However, the game turned again as Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent back Tilak for a brilliant 56(29), and Hazlewood’s first ball of the 19th over removed Hardik for a breathtaking 42(15). In the final over, Krunal Pandya kept things tight, and a sensational Salt-David relay catch sealed the deal for RCB.

Earlier, RCB’s innings began with a flourish as Phil Salt stylishly opened with a cover drive off Trent Boult, only to be bowled on the next delivery. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal then launched a brutal counterattack, tearing into the MI bowlers. Kohli was at his vintage best, smashing a huge six off Jasprit Bumrah, while Padikkal punished Boult and Chahar, guiding RCB to 73/1 in the Powerplay.

Kohli reached his second fifty of the season with a towering six off Vignesh Puthur, who later removed Padikkal for a fluent 37(22), breaking a dominant 91-run stand. Hardik Pandya then picked up two quick wickets in the 15th over—removing Kohli for a majestic 64(31) and sending back Liam Livingstone cheaply.

But Rajat Patidar rose to the occasion, launching a fierce counter-assault. He smashed 16 runs off three deliveries from Pandya en route to his 50 and ended with a captain’s knock of 62(32), cut short only by a spectacular running catch by Rickelton. Jitesh Sharma’s explosive unbeaten 40(19) ensured RCB finished strongly, setting up what became a thrilling 12-run win.
